About the role
The Solutions Architect (SA) is a subject matter expert (SME) and technology thought leader who contributes their deep knowledge of process and technology to the core team for each Sports Media & Entertainment (M&E) project. The SA provides direction and advice through the project life cycle from sales concept to design development, construction drawings to implementation support. As the technical thought leader on a project team, the SA is instrumental in the determination and execution of client and system requirements and will collaborate with Sports M&E SMEs and project teams as required.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to complex engagements and works directly with clients and project teams to develop basis of design, budgets, timelines, and manage expectations.
- Conceptualize system designs and determine system requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and coordination information to support the base building tasks performed by others, and planning of audio, video, and control solutions.
- Maintain expertise in the industry through ongoing review of trade publications, participation in industry trade shows, seminars, and educational forums.
- Evaluate RFP documents to identify risks, scope gaps and alternative solutions.
- Work with Sports Account Executives and customers to develop proposals that respond to the customers’ technical needs.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and manage the expectations of each project team; with the ability to delegate conceptual information to those project teams for execution.
- Successfully complete complex Sports M&E engineering projects.
- Lead high-profile client interactions, affecting high-level financial and technical decisions.
Requirements
- 15+ years’ experience in Sports / Media/ Entertainment (M&E) technical systems design for Stadium / Arena Video Production Systems.
- Extensive experience with SMPTE 2110 Routing Orchestration and Network Architecture and Digital AV networks (e.g. Dante / AES67).
- Understanding of TCP/IP routing, ACL’s, QoS, VLAN’s and Wireless Access Points; network certifications preferred.
- SDI Based Routing and Production Systems Stadium / Arena Broadcast Cabling Solutions Production Control Rooms Camera Systems (Wired / Wireless / PTZ / HFR / HDR) Replay / Slow Motion Systems Graphics Systems and LED CMS Systems Intercom Systems (Wired / Wireless) Fiber Transmission Systems.
- Proven ability to lead high-profile client interactions, affecting high level financial & technical decisions.
- Proven track record of successfully completing complex Sports M&E engineering projects.
- A clear understanding of project phases; Program, Conceptualization, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction and Commissioning.
- Detailed oriented, independent, self-starter.
- Exceptional time management skills with a track record for meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High level of problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office 365.
Skills
- Media Asset Management Media Workflow.
- Understanding of Cloud Audio Video Production Technology Remote Production Workflows.
