The Role

We are seeking experienced pre-sales professionals with a proven track record in helping large enterprises become more data-driven. This role involves working closely with Account Executives to define and direct the technical strategy for key accounts, focusing on the Retail, Travel & Hospitality, and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sectors. The goal is to maximize the use of Databricks' products and foster broader adoption of machine learning and artificial intelligence (ML & AI).

Responsibilities

  • Work with 1-5 clients as the primary technical voice for Databricks
  • Lead customers through a transformative journey, integrating Databricks into their strategic plans
  • Implement the technical strategy within the account, aligning with broader business goals
  • Build a network of technical advocates within the client organization
  • Align technical strategies with Databricks solutions
  • Mentor other team members in technical skills and best practices

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in large (> $1m ARR) retail and CPG-related enterprises
  • 3+ years of pre-sales experience or supporting sales activities
  • Technical expertise in big data, data science, and cloud technologies
  • Experience in data-driven business transformation and driving change with data
  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing big data technologies like Hadoop, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP, OLAP, or full lifecycle data science solutions
  • Experience maintaining and evolving production data systems to meet complex customer needs
  • Programming experience in Python, R, Scala, or Java for production environments

Pay

The pay range for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range.
