About the role

The AWS Solutions Architect — Named-Account Lead serves as the dedicated AWS technical advisor for a strategic customer in the AWS U.S. Nonprofits NFICU sub-vertical. This role involves leading the customer's AWS technical strategy across multiple engagements, translating the customer's mission and regulatory environment into AWS architectural decisions, and collaborating closely with the account team and Professional Services.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with a Senior Account Executive and the broader account team to lead the account's AWS technical strategy across an integrated multi-pillar engagement: GenAI Full-Stack, Cloud Migration, Professional Services, and Amazon Connect.
  • Act as the customer's primary AWS technical-architect-of-record, the AE's technical co-pilot, and the inside-AWS voice that translates the account's regulatory environment and operating model into AWS architectural decisions.
  • Apply the AWS GenAI Innovation Center (GenAIIC) + AI Development Life-Cycle (AIDLC) accelerator mechanism to move the customer's GenAI proof-of-concept work into production-launched outcomes.
  • Partner deeply with AWS Professional Services on the customer's active ProServe engagements, providing pre-SOW architectural input, mid-engagement technical guidance, and post-engagement production-readiness review.
  • Translate the customer's mission, regulatory environment, and operating model into AWS architectural decisions, ensuring that these decisions honor the customer's compliance posture, data-residency expectations, and member-data sensitivity.
  • Operate the Sales-SA partnership cadence with the account sales team, including weekly account-team standups, monthly business reviews, quarterly strategic-planning cycles, and ad-hoc executive-engagement support.
  • Drive opportunity-pipeline integrity on the customer's active engagements, adopting and promoting the NPO SA org's Kiro CLI + MCP toolchain for account-management automation.
  • Contribute to the AWS NPO Technical Field Community (TFC), participating in the bi-weekly Kiro demo-build program and the GenAI Accelerator Initiative, and lifting reusable patterns into TFC content that benefits the broader NPO SA bench.
  • Travel approximately 25-35% to the customer's headquarters for in-person executive briefings, customer workshops, on-site architecture reviews, and joint working sessions, plus AWS / nonprofit industry events such as AWS Imagine for Nonprofits.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Skills

  • Deep AWS technical breadth
  • Sensibility to operate inside a mission-driven financial-services organization
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
