Solutions Architect

The Opportunity We're looking for our first Solutions Architect to help bring vision into production. You'll work directly with our customers, helping them build exciting products with durable execution. You'll also help shape the future of Restate by bringing customer insights back to the team, influencing the product roadmap, and sharing what you're learning with the broader developer community through talks, demos, and other evangelism efforts. The Role You'll work directly with engineers, architects, and technical leaders to take Restate from initial evaluation to production. This is a highly technical role. You'll spend your time in architecture discussions, technical evaluations, prototypes, code, and production troubleshooting via white board. You'll help teams: Evaluate where durable execution fits into their architectureDesign production systems with RestateBuild proof-of-concepts and reference implementationsSolve distributed systems and infrastructure challengesDeploy and operate Restate in production You'll also bring what you learn back to Restate, shaping the product, improving developer experience, and turning recurring customer challenges into reusable tooling and patterns. What You'll Do Architect & build Design production architectures with engineering teamsHelp solve problems around state, messaging, orchestration, and failure handlingBuild prototypes, integrations, and reference implementationsGuide teams from evaluation through productionTroubleshoot complex distributed systems and infrastructure issues Shape Restate Bring technical feedback directly to engineering and productTurn recurring challenges into tooling, documentation, and best practicesContribute to technical demos, talks, and developer content What We're Looking For We're looking for technically strong engineers and architects who enjoy solving complex infrastructure problems alongside other engineers. Must Have Strong software engineering or solutions architecture backgroundExperience with distributed, backend, or event-driven systemsStrong understanding of system architecture and reliabilityExperience with a backend language such as Go, Java, Python, TypeScript, Rust, or C++Experience with cloud infrastructure and/or KubernetesAbility to dive into code and troubleshoot technical issues Nice to Have Distributed databases, messaging systems, workflow engines, or infrastructure softwareKubernetes, networking, observability, or cloud architectureAI infrastructure or production AI applicationsRust or other systems programming experienceOpen-source or technical evangelism experience Location United States (San Francisco Bay Area Preferred)Travel approximately one to two weeks per quarter Compensation Range: $220K - $260K
