Solutions Architect

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Solutions Architect to shape how technology is designed and delivered across Molex. The role focuses on improving technical decision‑making, reducing risk, and ensuring solutions that scale, perform, and endure. You will work across sites and teams to bring clarity to complex problems, guide critical decisions, and help others operate more effectively without creating dependency.

Responsibilities

• Help teams clearly frame problems before jumping to solutions.
• Guide architectural decisions across network, infrastructure, cloud, and security.
• Ensure trade‑offs are understood across cost, risk, performance, and scalability.
• Step in on decisions with enterprise impact or long‑term consequences.
• Enable engineers, site IT/OT, and product teams to make strong decisions independently.
• Reduce unnecessary escalation through clear guidance and reusable patterns.
• Teach how to think, not just what to do.
• Engage on high‑impact or high‑risk initiatives.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise direction and standards.
• Manage vendor relationships and support contract and service discussions.

Qualifications

• Strong background in network, infrastructure, and security.
• Experience operating in complex, global environments.
• Ability to evaluate trade‑offs and make balanced, practical decisions.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to influence without direct authority.

Preferred qualifications

• Strong problem‑solving skills with a bias for action.
• Comfortable operating under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
• Exposure to manufacturing, plant environments, or OT/IT integrations.
• Experience defining standards, patterns, or reference architecture.
• Experience working with external partners and vendors.
