About the role
The Solutions Architect will design and guide the implementation of complex payment systems for Modern Treasury's customers. They will work closely with Sales Engineers and Technical Account Managers to lead deep discovery into customers' technical, financial, and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery and design of end-to-end payment, reconciliation, and ledger systems
- Drive onboarding from solution design through launch
- Guide architecture decisions across scalability, reliability, and complexity
- Troubleshoot complex issues across APIs and production systems
- Partner cross-functionally to deliver solutions and improve the product
- Act as the voice of the customer by identifying product gaps and opportunities
Requirements
- 3+ years in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Architect or Solutions Engineer
- Strong experience with REST APIs and system design
- Comfortable debugging issues across integrations and production systems
- Ability to lead technical discovery, architecture discussions, implementation, and manage technical stakeholders
- Experience using AI agents in a work environment
- Experience writing code or building applications is a plus
- Background in fintech, payments, or financial systems
- Familiarity with ledgering, reconciliation, or accounting concepts
