About the role

The Solutions Engineer supports customers in evaluating and implementing manufacturing technology solutions that improve operational performance. They work closely with sales, engineering, and implementation teams to understand customer requirements, develop technical solutions, and demonstrate the business value of automation and digital manufacturing initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Partner with commercial teams to identify customer requirements and evaluate potential opportunities.
• Conduct discovery sessions to understand manufacturing processes, production challenges, operational goals, and technical requirements.
• Analyze workflows, production metrics, constraints, and equipment performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Deliver technical demonstrations, workshops, proof-of-concept activities, and pilot programs.
• Develop solution concepts and implementation strategies that align with customer objectives.
• Create business cases and ROI analyses that quantify operational improvements and financial benefits.
• Support customers in identifying inefficiencies related to downtime, manual activities, inconsistent processes, and limited operational visibility.
• Evaluate manufacturing software, automation technologies, maintenance systems, and production management solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, software, automation, and implementation teams to ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and successfully executed.
• Support implementation planning, validation activities, commissioning efforts, and customer acceptance processes.
• Identify project risks and assist with mitigation planning.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging manufacturing technologies, automation trends, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Participate in trade shows, customer workshops, technical presentations, and on-site evaluations.
• Maintain accurate records of customer requirements, pilot activities, technical assessments, and project documentation.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Three to seven years of experience in applications engineering, solutions engineering, manufacturing engineering, automation engineering, controls engineering, or other customer-facing technical roles.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations, production systems, automation technologies, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of industrial engineering principles including production analysis, capacity planning, throughput optimization, equipment utilization, and process improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with manufacturing software platforms, industrial automation systems, machine monitoring technologies, asset management tools, or digital manufacturing applications.
• Working knowledge of control systems, industrial networking, HMI technologies, robotics, machine vision, and automated equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, process documentation, and technical specifications.
• Experience supporting pilot projects, system deployments, commissioning activities, validation efforts, or implementation projects.
• Understanding of manufacturing quality systems, compliance requirements, error-proofing methodologies, and traceability principles.
• Experience collaborating directly with manufacturing, operations, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.
• Strong presentation, communication, and customer engagement skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Additional language capabilities, particularly German, are considered beneficial.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
