Solution Consultant
About the role
The Solution Consultant role is a key position within the Solution Consulting team, providing leadership and expertise in delivering high-value services to FNZ’s existing and potential customers. This includes platform configuration, supporting sales teams in winning and sizing new projects, and conducting consulting assignments such as proposition definition, Target Operating Model (TOM) design, business transformation, customer training, and bespoke requirements definition. The role ensures business outcomes are accurately documented and integrated into the delivery process to meet client needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide up-to-date knowledge and awareness of current trends and future directions in the local asset management industry.
- Present and explain existing FNZ capabilities to clients and stakeholders.
- Define and challenge project scope, capturing and documenting customer business outcomes to create requirements, solution designs, and Joint Target Operating Models.
- Design platform integrations and support business transformation initiatives.
- Provide consultancy on platform compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and deliver customer training programs and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Configure and deliver FNZ’s Model Wealth Solution (MWS) process for new platform implementations.
- Facilitate handovers to analysts and developers, conduct functional reviews, and participate in TDD walkthroughs.
- Define business readiness processes and agree on Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Verify defects and ensure solutions meet customer requirements.
- Lead and support aligned FNZ client projects, building team capability and fostering continuous improvement.
- Work with customers and internal stakeholders to define proposition and product requirements, leveraging market expertise.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in FNZ Platform functionality to help customers optimize or enhance platform capabilities.
- Understand and advise on Platform Target Operating Models, including interfaces between platform operations and customer operations.
- Run the MWS Configuration process, capturing all customer configuration points in service documentation.
- Document bespoke customer requirements and ensure they are met as the solution owner.
- Provide review and quality assurance of solution documentation.
- Deliver consultancy services to other FNZ clients and projects as required.
- Provide guidance on the regulatory environment and ensure compliant platform delivery.
- Act as an SME in the platform market, providing training and support across FNZ.
Requirements
- Preferred industry knowledge in trading systems, order management systems, corporate actions, and/or market data.
- Experience in a consulting, analysis, or architecture environment.
- Understanding of investment/wealth/life and/or pensions products and the markets in which FNZ operates.
- Knowledge of the Canadian regulatory environment and upcoming changes.
- 3+ years of experience in a delivery/consulting role within the financial services or wealth market.
