About the role
Design, develop, and implement solutions to complex business problems in collaboration with stakeholders. Balance technology risks against business delivery, driving consistency and aligning solutions with modern software engineering practices and automated delivery tooling.
- Design and develop evolving solution products that meet business requirements.
- Apply targeted design activities with an appropriate workload placement strategy, maximizing cloud capabilities such as elasticity, serverless, and containerization.
- Incorporate best-practice security principles (e.g., defense in depth, reduction of blast radius) to meet the Bank’s resiliency expectations.
- Balance risks and controls to deliver agreed business and technology value.
- Adopt standardized solutions where applicable; contribute to their evolution if no fit exists.
- Support operational teams in fault-finding and performance issues using available tooling.
- Assess solution design impact in terms of risk, capacity, and cost, including estimation of project change and ongoing run costs.
- Develop architecture inputs required for governance processes, including design artifacts for architecture, privacy, security, and records management.

- Collaborate with other business areas to align with strategies and maintain trusting stakeholder relationships.
- Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing complex alternatives.
- Adopt outcomes of extensive research in problem-solving processes.
Requirements
- Experience designing front-office or Markets technology solutions across Sales workflows, client onboarding, trading enablement, and post-trade handoffs.
- Considerable workflow design knowledge across lifecycle states, accountability, approvals, maker-checker supervision, exceptions, audit trails, SLAs, and monitoring.
- Experience modernizing legacy platforms with reusable services, integration contracts, canonical data models, and clear migration paths.
- Familiarity with applied AI patterns such as extraction, summarization, semantic search, workflow assistance, routing, triage, recommendations, and human-in-the-loop review.
- Ability to explain architecture through diagrams, proof-of-concept findings, trade-offs, non-functional requirements, and implementation guidance.
- Direct experience with Java microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, cloud/container platforms, CI/CD, observability, resiliency, scalability, and performance.
Skills
- Camunda, BPMN workflow modeling, Kafka, or similar event-driven messaging experience.
- Applied AI experience (e.g., extraction, summarization, semantic search, workflow assistance, routing, triage, recommendations, human-in-the-loop review).
- Domain exposure to Sales workflows, client onboarding, trading enablement, trade capture, allocation, confirmations, exceptions, or post-trade handoffs.
- Assessment may include skills such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology expertise.

Pay
Base salary range: $170,000 – $230,000. The range includes only base salary and does not encompass other compensation or benefits.
