Solution Architect DED

Solution Architect Job Responsibilities

• Assist in additive DED pre-sales activity in supporting customer/prospect requirements gathering, building test plans for POC evaluation, and participating in sales engagement for identifying opportunity.
• Respond to technical requirements for RFP requests for potential opportunity and participating in the sales process.
• Manage activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation in driving customer wins.
• Review business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and participating in the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.
• Communicate the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborate and coordinate with existing domain architects in the formalization and adoption of best practice capability for Optomec DED solutions.
• Champion a structured approach to business application solutions.
• Directly assist in the development of a solutions architecture program including departmental roadmaps and project initiatives for customers/prospects.
• Assure solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standard guidelines of technology solutions required by Optomec.
• Influence changes to standards when necessary and participate in adopting innovative approaches to technology.
• Assist domain architecture team on solutions management and timing of financial spend in collaboration with sales account management for wins with customers/prospects.
• Support the architectural aspects of all application projects in DED portfolio offerings.
• Direct the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.
• Develop and execute solutions which further reduce the percentage of time spent on reactive work.

• Broad understanding of information technology topics related to DED technology
• Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability
• Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills
• Flexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities
• Techically creative and open-minded

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent education or work experience
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience related experience
• Demonstrated ability to communicate the complexities of technical programs and detail of technical solutions.
• Expertise with personal computers and aptitude with Microsoft applications
