Solid Waste Supervisor

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $34.63. After hire, pay increases are dependent on length of service, advancement in the position, and other contractual factors.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 6:30 am – 2:30 pm. Some Saturdays required.

Role Summary

To develop, facilitate and assist Public Works Technicians in collection of solid waste including trash, recycling and compost side‑load, rear‑load and front‑load operations. Cross‑training in maintenance and repair of City infrastructure including forestry, streets, water distribution, sanitary and stormwater collection systems, and grounds and facility maintenance.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED) – required.
• Valid driver’s license; on‑call availability with average 2 hours of field work per day – required.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years supervisory experience.
• 2 years experience in solid waste.
• Experience supervising union employees.
