About the role

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for hand soldering, along with set-up and operation of automated soldering machines used in soldering printed circuit boards. Assignments are semi-routine in nature and involve following verbal and written instructions, including blueprints and subassembly layouts.

Responsibilities

  • Hand solder electronic components in through-hole and surface mount technology to Military Standards.
  • Set up and operate automated soldering equipment.
  • Prepare boards for soldering operations, such as cleaning and masking.
  • Clean printed circuit boards and equipment.
  • Visually check work in process for solder defects and adjust as required.
  • Comprehend work instructions and customer blueprints.
  • Accomplish all job-related paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and leadership team.
  • Maintain a clean work area in accordance with 6S standards.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and training exercises.
  • Perform regular preventative machine maintenance.
  • Willingness to be trained on new processes.
  • Perform all other assigned duties as required.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated mechanical/repair skills (intermediate).
  • Ability to communicate in English clearly, both written and verbal; good interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and work 9-hour shifts.
  • Ability to properly use provided PPE.
  • Ability to pass an eye exam with a minimum 20/20 vision (corrected via eyeglasses or contact lenses as required). Annual eye exam is mandatory.
  • Comply with all Company Safety and ESD Program requirements.
  • Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC, including:
    • Identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents.
    • Recognize Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation.
    • Follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL).
    • Understand Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US.
    • Manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of solder experience required.
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience in an electronics testing environment desired.
