Solder Assembler
About the role
Mercury Systems is seeking aspiring solderers to assist with production operations involving PCBs and PCBAs. Successful candidates must demonstrate proficiency in soldering SMT and through-hole components, performing inspections, and adhering to IPC standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Use soldering irons to attach electronic components using SMT and Thru hole technologies.
- Interpret job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics.
- Perform a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards.
- Perform pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts.
- Modify, solder, rework, and repair assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications, drawings, and work instructions.
- Other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Will require an onsite soldering assessment to J-STD-001 standards during the interview.
- Meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Typically requires 3+ years of electronics assembly and inspection experience with in-process soldering (both through hole and surface mount).
- Able to work for extended hours utilizing a microscope for inspection and solder touch-ups.
- Hand soldering experience is required.
- Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Rework/repair, wire attach, and mechanical assembly experience.
- Detail oriented and able to multitask.
- IPC-610, J-STD-001 and 7711/7721 certification preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work a flexible schedule to meet production and customer needs.
Pay & Benefits
The full-time equivalent job grade salary range for this position is $38,300.00 - $76,600.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees $42,900.00 - $85,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA $45,200.00 - $90,400.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ.
