On-siteProject Management$160k–$250k/yrFull-time

About the role

The Construction Team at Fluidstack is responsible for driving the end-to-end delivery of utility-scale solar and BESS projects from development handoff through commercial operation. This includes owning the budget, schedule, scope, and risk across various workstreams such as civil, electrical, substation, gen-tie, and interconnection.

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end delivery of utility-scale solar and BESS projects from NTP through COD, delivering on budget and managing schedule pressure.
  • Own project budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and change-order governance, reporting earned-value KPIs weekly and flagging cost and schedule deviations.
  • Manage interconnection milestones as a critical path item, navigating CAISO, MISO, ERCOT, or PJM queue processes without dictating the schedule.
  • Communicate with precision to ensure that lenders, landowners, and field superintendents all receive the necessary information from the same status updates, tailored to their contexts.
  • Lead construction managers, field superintendents, and project engineers across concurrent solar sites, developing staffing plans and running weekly standups, reviews, and issue escalations.

Requirements

You've led project management on utility-scale solar or solar-plus-storage projects from NTP through COD, delivering on budget, and can describe the schedule pressure and resolution strategies you used.

  • Understand civil, structural, electrical, BESS, substation, and gen-tie scopes well enough to catch scope gaps at bid time and hold EPC contractors to the contract during execution.
  • Own budgets at the project level: run earned-value tracking, manage owner-controlled contingency, and govern change orders without losing commercial position.
  • Manage interconnection milestones as a critical path item, navigating CAISO, MISO, ERCOT, or PJM queue processes without letting them dictate the schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience leading project management on utility-scale solar or solar-plus-storage projects from NTP through COD, delivering on budget.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and cash-flow forecasts, and to govern change orders without losing commercial position.
  • Experience navigating interconnection milestones as a critical path item, and navigating CAISO, MISO, ERCOT, or PJM queue processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate with precision to ensure that lenders, landowners, and field superintendents all receive the necessary information from the same status updates, tailored to their contexts.
  • Experience building and scaling field-based project teams across multiple concurrent sites, and the ability to lead those teams to success.

Skills

  • Project management experience on utility-scale solar or solar-plus-storage projects.
  • Strong understanding of civil, structural, electrical, BESS, substation, and gen-tie scopes.
  • Experience managing budgets and cash-flow forecasts.
  • Experience navigating interconnection milestones as a critical path item.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Benefits

  • Competitive total compensation package (salary + equity).
  • Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. This range represents our good faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Total compensation may also include equity in the form of stock options.
