About the role
The role leads a team of technicians to ensure the safe and efficient operation & maintenance of solar power systems within a designated sub-region. The Solar O&M Team Lead will oversee all aspects of preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, scheduling, dispatching, and reporting in the Minnesota area.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and train O&M technicians, fostering a strong safety culture and compliance with all regulations.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts, inspections, and preventative maintenance on Sub-Region solar systems.
- Develop corrective action plans for system deficiencies.
- Effectively communicate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely repairs and warranty claims.
- Dispatch field team to address service and maintenance needs.
- Work with Regional Manager to supervise and direct contractors in Sub-Region.
- Oversee O&M documentation, including work orders, Pre-job briefs, and preventative maintenance reports.
- Ensure all field work complies with OEM requirements and warranties.
- Operate safely in high voltage environments (600Vac, 1500Vdc).
- Able to travel on short notice and be available during non-traditional working hours.
- Up to 50% regional travel may be expected at times.

Qualifications
- Associate's degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred.
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional or NABCEP PV Commissioning & Maintenance Specialist certification highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical systems operation and maintenance.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Highly proficient in solar data acquisition systems and relevant software.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30, NFPA 70E required.
- FDA Part 107 Drone Certification.
- Proficient operating Drones for Aerial Thermographic purposes.
