Solar Electrician - PV and Battery Storage

Responsibilities

• Recognize safety hazards and follow safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers, and the public.
• Read and interpret instruction manuals, blueprints, and control system drawings; apply knowledge to daily tasks under the supervision of the Lead Electrician.
• Complete written and electronic records (e.g., work orders, calibration sheets, timecards, material requests) to document work in progress and completion.
• Repair, test, troubleshoot, inspect, install, remove, and maintain solar site equipment such as solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment.
• Supervise and train apprentice electricians/coworkers on proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.
• Available for after-hours and weekend call-outs on occasion.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent related experience.
• Current Massachusetts Journeyman's Certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of industrial solar electric/electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation, and/or maintenance of related electrical/electronic equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License in good standing, issued by state of residence.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electricity, voltage, and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.
• Knowledge of Solar PV (a plus).
• Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, stand, stoop, lift, carry, reach, climb, hear, see, and work on ladders for extended periods with hands and arms at heights to install and troubleshoot equipment.
• OSHA training and certification (preferred).

Pay

The anticipated hourly range for this role is $37.02 - $53.61 per hour. Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.
