Solar Electrician

We are looking for an experienced Electrician to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure for solar systems. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems. Responsibilities Inspect electrical systems, equipment or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustments or repair, and to assure compliance with state and local codesCarry out Service Upgrades needed for interconnectionMeet with City and/or Town Inspectors to inspect the Solar installsEnergize, test and commission the solar systems with and without the utilityDiagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components using test equipment, hand tools and power tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problemConduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performanceDirect or train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring and equipmentProvide supervision of electrical crews on code issues and proper installation proceduresRepair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand or power toolsInstall ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motorsFollow organizational Policies and Procedures including OSHA requirements. Complete OSHA training as requiredOversee materials and equipment ordered to make sure that they are code compliantAttend and/or run organization safety & other training meetings as requiredPrepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through themPerform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units Requirements Proven experience as an electricianMust be journeyman/E1 or E2 electricianDemonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprintsThorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelinesExcellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilityExcellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnightDiploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electricianValid license to practice profession Benefits Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k)Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
