About the role

Ameresco’s Operations & Maintenance Group has an opportunity for an Electrician to join our Solar Operations and Maintenance team in the Albany, NY area. This role involves inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining commercial or utility solar facilities.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers, and the public.
• Reads and interprets instruction manuals, blueprints, and control system drawings; applies knowledge to daily tasks under the supervision of the Lead Electrician.
• Completes written and electronic records (e.g., work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) to document work in progress and completion.
• Repairs, tests, troubleshoots, inspects, installs, removes, and maintains solar site equipment such as solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment.
• Supervises and trains apprentice electricians/coworkers on proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.
• Available for after-hours and weekend call-outs on occasion.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of industrial solar electric/electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation, and/or maintenance of related electrical/electronic equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License in good standing, issued by state of residence.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience in lieu of diploma.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electricity, voltage, and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.
• Knowledge of Solar PV (a plus).
• Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, stand, stoop, lift, carry, reach, climb, hear, see, and work on ladders for extended periods with hands and arms at heights to install and troubleshoot equipment.
• OSHA training and certification preferred.

Pay

The anticipated hourly range for this role is $37.01–$53.60 per hour. Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.
