Soiled Laundry Sorter

Duties & Essential Job Functions

• Open customer returned soil bags (bags weigh ~45 lbs.), discard plastic, spread product out to allow for visibility on soil belt.
• Pre-sort classifications as required.
• Maintain production standards of 45 bags or 2000 lbs. opened per hour for each operator.
• Move up and down the belt sorting into the appropriate bins or slots.
• Float between multiple positions moving along the belt.
• Move empty carts to appropriate area for cleaning and reuse.
• Tag broken carts for maintenance to repair.
• Call maintenance for repair of equipment if something is not working correctly.
• Dispose of unusual items found in soil bags appropriately.
• Execute decisions without prior approval for anything unusual or outside of normal operations.

Qualifications

• Physical Requirements: Requires reaching above shoulders, bending, standing, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs., pulling/pushing force up to 10 lbs., fine manipulation, and reaching at or below shoulders.
• Special Visual/Auditory Requirements: None specifically mentioned.
• Work Environment: Near moving mechanical parts, in high precarious places, outside in weather conditions, exposed to fumes or airborne particles, exposed to extreme heat and cold, and potential blood/fluid exposure.
