SOHS - Assistant Volleyball Coach

Essential Job Functions

• Absorb and follow oral and written directions.
• Understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Lift heavy objects.

Performance Responsibilities

• Promote sports in the school and community.
• Assist the head coach in planning the athletic program.
• Organize and supervise practices.
• Teach individual fundamental skills, team plan, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.
• Teach good sportsmanship and self-control.
• Check eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
• Provide a positive role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance to students.
• Conduct learning experiences, under the direction of the coaches, with small groups of student athletes.
• Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes.
• Show loyalty and dedication to the purposes and goals of Oldham County Schools.

Terms of Employment

• Employment is on an as needed basis as determined by the Superintendent and subject to annual review.
• Evaluation of performance will be conducted annually by the building principal or his/her designee.
• Evaluations will be in accordance with Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
