Software Test Automation Engineer

About the role

A Software Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications by planning, designing, executing, and maintaining test activities throughout the software development lifecycle. The role involves identifying defects, validating functional and non-functional requirements, and ensuring that applications meet business expectations and quality standards before release.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes business and technical requirements to develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test data.
• Performs functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, usability, and compatibility testing while documenting, tracking, and verifying defects using defect management tools.
• Collaborates closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, reproduce issues, and validate defect fixes.
• Participates in requirement reviews, sprint planning, test estimation, release validation, and continuous improvement of testing processes.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is typically required.
• Experience with software testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, Agile or Scrum practices, and test management and defect tracking tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar technologies is an added advantage.
