About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Engineer to develop an advanced automotive System on Chip (SoC) software platform. This platform will operate on a high-performance SoC for use in AD/ADAS and/or Central Compute ECU, utilizing hypervisor technology and supporting guest operating systems such as Blackberry QNX, Adaptive AUTOSAR, and various Linux distributions.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and support standard automotive sensors (cameras, radar, lidar, sonar, inertia sensing) with a focus on AD/ADAS.
- Develop image processing capabilities within the platform.
- Implement system partitioning, hypervisors, and container engine technology to enhance platform flexibility and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware engineers, product engineers, and other stakeholders) to ensure the software platform meets performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Assess risks and uncertainties in software development, proactively identifying roadblocks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Deep understanding of SDV Enablers, Zonal Network, high-performance central compute modules, automated driving, AI, machine learning, perception modules, connected mobility, MLOps, and OTA updates.
Skills
- Strong experience in C/C++ development for automotive embedded systems, including automotive SoC software platforms.
- Proficiency with POSIX OS, QNX, board support packages, middleware, hypervisor, container engines, and AD/ADAS technology stacks.
- Expertise in AD/ADAS sensor (cameras, radar, lidar) bring-up, integration, and debugging on automotive platforms.
- Good understanding of image processing, image transfer, video input/output handling in SoC platform software development.
- Experience with major SoC vendors (Qualcomm SA8650, Renesas RCAR, Nvidia Orin/Thor) and SoC hardware (Ethernet, USB, UFS, Display Port, PCIe, QUP, UART, SPI, I2C, inter-core communication, camera, CPU Kryo, ARM Cortex R-52, Hexagon Tensor Processor, accelerators, DDR, Flash ROM, MMU).
- Strong understanding of Classic and Adaptive AUTOSAR software architecture and CI/CD practices.
- Knowledge of CPU/GPU architectures, data structures, OS internals, multi-threading, inter-process communications, and memory management techniques.
- Nice-to-have: NVIDIA Drive OS experience, hypervisor virtual platforms, V-Model, ASPICE, MISRA, ISO26262, cybersecurity, and Agile framework.
- Ability to read schematics, electrical block diagrams, and IC datasheets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience, with a minimum of 4 years in AD/ADAS sensor development and 3+ years in automotive or embedded system low-level domains.
Working Conditions
- Required to sit or stand for long periods; may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Domestic and international travel may be required to support project development.
