About the role
KB Signaling strives for excellence and for this reason we are excited to create the position of Safety Assurance Lead. This is an experienced position that will report directly to the Safety Manager in support of KB Signaling locations. This position will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety during program and/or project development.
Responsibilities
- Software Safety Analysis
- Perform the Safety Assurance activities on project/product development in accordance with the Safety process
- Support tenders by providing Safety Estimates
- Define the Safety Plan, including safety workload, and associated planning for the project/product development
- Perform Safety Analysis
- Apply the safety assurance methodologies (risk acceptance criteria, verification and validation) defined for the project/product development to meet the Safety Targets
- Manage the Hazard Log through closure
- Support V&V and T&C activities from a Safety perspective
- Work with Engineering teams to integrate products into projects
- Build the Safety Reports and/or the Safety Cases
- Defend the Safety Case in front of external (ISA) assessors; define and follow-up action plans to close the findings of the assessors
- Lead (if any) the Safety Assurance Engineers involved on the project / system / product (Internal or external resources)
- Manage Safety Issues of fielded solutions

Qualifications
- 5 years successful experience in safety assurance or safety-critical applications
- Knows and Understands the Safety Standards (AREMA, CENELEC, e.g., or equivalent)
- Railroad Industry Experience is a plus
Skills
- Bachelors degree in relevant Engineering (System, Electrical, Electro-mechanical, Software)
Pay
The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Rochester, NY is $105,400 to $158,200 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education.
