Software Manager, Machine Control & Distributed Computing

About the Role

The LS-SWIFT Division of KLA’s Global Products Group provides patterned wafer inspection systems for high-volume semiconductor manufacturing. Its mission is to deliver market-leading cost of ownership in defect detection for applications in semiconductor production. LS (Laser Scanning) and SWIFT (Simultaneous Wafer Inspection at Fast Throughput) systems serve foundry, logic, memory, automotive, MEMS, and advanced packaging markets worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of software engineers to enhance wafer inspection products through superior technology, modern software practices, and machine learning.
• Conceive, design, and deploy robust, scalable software for high-volume production and real-time applications.
• Lead the transition to next-generation software architecture, potentially using a newer tech stack, while supporting existing features.
• Acquire and demonstrate technical knowledge of LS-SWIFT product software.
• Ensure product timelines are met with high-quality software.
• Work on complex problems requiring in-depth analysis of situations or data.
• Develop detailed designs, code, and unit tests that are consistent, robust, future-proof, and scalable.
• Improve existing software through design and architectural enhancements.
• Learn newer software technologies independently and implement modern frameworks while working with legacy systems.
• Collaborate with cross-divisional and cross-functional teams across global locations to deliver software solutions.
• Communicate effectively on technical and business topics.

Requirements

• Strong software development expertise with proficiency in modern programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, and Python.
• Proven experience as a people and functional manager, with a track record of building high-performing engineering teams.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with globally distributed teams across the United States, India, Singapore, and other international locations.
• Deep understanding of software design principles, architectural patterns, and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of open-source technologies, frameworks, and software ecosystems for both web-based and desktop applications.
• Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs and recommend solutions based on business and technical requirements.
• Passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing talent to maximize potential.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and technical problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Results-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.

Qualifications

• Preferred work experience in semiconductor processing, equipment industry, or product companies.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-driven and a strong team player.
• Good understanding of high-performance computing and related technologies (CPU, GPU performance comparison, toolkits) along with machine learning basics.

Pay

Base pay range: $195,600.00 - $332,500.00 annually.
