A Day in the Life

As a Software Integration & Test Engineer I, you will support the development and execution of software and hardware testing activities that validate Innoflight's cutting-edge aerospace products. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll develop Python-based automation tools, execute test procedures, troubleshoot complex systems, and contribute to delivering reliable, mission-critical solutions for the space industry.

What You'll Do

  • Develops Test Strategies: Identifies testable product requirements and assists in developing comprehensive test plans that validate product performance, functionality, and features throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Creates Automated Test Solutions: Develops and maintains Python-based automation tools and scripts that interface with laboratory test equipment and products under test, improving testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Authors Test Procedures: Writes Design Verification and Acceptance Test procedures to support engineering development, product validation, and manufacturing activities.
  • Investigates Test Failures: Troubleshoots software, hardware, and test setup issues, working closely with senior engineers to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Supports Test Review Activities: Presents technical findings and participates in Test Review Boards, helping drive issue resolution and continuous product improvement.
  • Enhances Manufacturing Testing: Collaborates with manufacturing operations to improve test clarity, repeatability, and reliability through enhanced processes and automation.
  • Integrates and Troubleshoots Systems: Works alongside hardware and software engineering teams to integrate products, validate functionality, and resolve technical issues during development.
  • Supports Project Planning: Provides estimates for developing test features, automation scripts, and verification procedures while supporting project schedules and engineering objectives.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience in software integration, test engineering, or a related role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming and software automation.
  • Experience with C/C++, JavaScript, SQL, and Linux is a plus.
  • Experience documenting, tracking, and communicating technical issues and findings.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting software and hardware communication interfaces.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, Innoflight offers a well-rounded compensation package that includes a Profit-Sharing Bonus and a Cash Performance Bonus to reward both individual and company performance.
