Join a team developing and integrating advanced real-time embedded software for combat vehicle systems.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and test software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Integrate hardware components and software modules within combat vehicle systems.
  • Build and maintain software and hardware integration testbeds.
  • Use Ethernet and CAN bus protocols to test applications and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Package Linux software as RPMs and binary executables.
  • Work with drivers, shared objects, and static libraries.
  • Perform scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening, vulnerability scanning, and software verification activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and vehicle-testing teams to investigate reported issues and analyze collected data.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and software integration problems.
  • Ensure technical approaches are consistent with established engineering principles and practices.
  • Verify that products meet technical, system, performance, process, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Travel to customer sites as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field.
  • At least two years of software integration experience.
  • Experience integrating and testing software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Experience packaging software as RPMs and binary executables.
  • Experience working with drivers, shared objects, and static libraries.
  • Ability to build and maintain software and hardware integration testbeds.
  • Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols.
  • Experience with Git and Jira or GitLab configuration-management tools.
  • Strong critical-thinking, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work directly with combat vehicle systems.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science.
  • Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems such as VxWorks.
  • Familiarity with C and C++ programming.
  • Experience with Bash, PowerShell, or Python scripting.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet-based protocols, including SSL/TLS, SSH, and SFTP.
  • Experience with Nessus and Coverity cybersecurity scans.
  • Familiarity with system hardening and applying STIG requirements.
  • Experience configuring and using virtual machines.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1553 and relevant military or commercial design standards.
  • Experience with UML modeling tools and model-based engineering applications such as MagicDraw or Enterprise Architect.
  • Familiarity with IBM DOORS and CMMI development practices.
  • Experience with the Qt framework and QML-based graphical user interfaces.
  • Experience using NI TestStand.
  • Familiarity with combat vehicle functions and capabilities.
