Software Integration Engineer II

About the role

The Software Integration Engineer supports the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) component of the CASA Compute Environment (CCE). The CCE delivers secure, multi-tenant, high-performance, and highly available Kubernetes clusters operating within a Linux-based infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Ensures platform reliability, scalability, security compliance, and optimal cluster performance in support of mission and application requirements.
• Supports the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the PaaS component of the CASA Compute Environment (CCE).
• Administers and monitors Kubernetes clusters.
• Resolves issues related to Kubernetes workloads such as ingress, performance, networking, storage, etc.
• Writes, deploys, and maintains Helm Charts.
• Uses system monitoring tools such as Prometheus / Grafana.
• Uses Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration.
• Uses the Linux CLI and Linux suite of tools.
• Develops scripts using Bash/Python.
• Uses containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman.
• Uses IaC principles, concepts, and methodologies using automation tools including Ansible.
• Willingness to learn development of Python applications (REST services, microservices, etc.).
• Willingness to obtain CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) certification.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI + FS Polygraph
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least six (6) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment
• OR Five (5) years of full-time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree, plus six (6) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.

Skills

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
• Experience working in a DevOps environment that uses Agile principles and methodologies
• Experience with or willingness to learn development of Python applications (REST services, microservices, etc.)
• CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) certification
