About the role
The Software Integration Engineer supports the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) component of the CASA Compute Environment (CCE). The CCE delivers secure, multi-tenant, high-performance, and highly available Kubernetes clusters operating within a Linux-based infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Ensures platform reliability, scalability, security compliance, and optimal cluster performance in support of mission and application requirements.
- Supports the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the PaaS component of the CASA Compute Environment (CCE).
- Administers and monitors Kubernetes clusters.
- Resolves issues related to Kubernetes workloads such as ingress, performance, networking, storage, etc.
- Writes, deploys, and maintains Helm Charts.
- Uses system monitoring tools such as Prometheus / Grafana.
- Uses Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration.
- Uses the Linux CLI and Linux suite of tools.
- Develops scripts using Bash/Python.
- Uses containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman.
- Uses IaC principles, concepts, and methodologies using automation tools including Ansible.
- Willingness to learn development of Python applications (REST services, microservices, etc.).
- Willingness to obtain CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) certification.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI + FS Polygraph
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least six (6) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment
- OR Five (5) years of full-time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree, plus six (6) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.

Skills
- Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Experience working in a DevOps environment that uses Agile principles and methodologies
- Experience with or willingness to learn development of Python applications (REST services, microservices, etc.)
- CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) certification
