About the Role
Software Integration Engineer responsible for integrating and testing embedded software on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hardware components within combat vehicle systems. Focuses on real-time integration, networking, cybersecurity hardening, and verification testing. Works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system performance meets customer and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and test software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hardware components on a combat vehicle system
- Apply knowledge of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols to test and troubleshoot issues
- Collaborate with engineering and vehicle test teams to investigate reported problems and analyze data
- Ensure technical approaches align with established engineering principles and practices
- Ensure product outcomes meet customer needs and all technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- Minimum of 2 years of embedded, real-time software integration experience
- Experience integrating software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including packaging as RPMs and binary executables
- Ability to build and maintain a software and hardware integration testbed
- Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols
- Proficiency with Git and Jira/Gitlab configuration management tools
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel to customer sites
- Ability to work on combat vehicle systems
- Eligibility to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance (requires US citizenship)
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
- Experience in architectural level software design using Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect, or similar model-based engineering tools
- Experience using NI TestStand
- Familiarity with combat vehicle functionality and capability
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-1553 and relevant military and commercial design standards
- Familiarity with UML modeling tools
- Familiarity with DOORS
- Familiarity with CMMI for development
- Familiarity with embedded systems
- Familiarity with VxWorks or other RTOS
- Familiarity with C and C++ programming
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python

Pay
Up to $47 per hour W2, depending on location.
