Software Integration Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Software Integration Engineer with experience and a passion for software integration and testing of real-time, embedded software. This position requires the candidate to be a W2 employee of Donatech and hold US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Integrates and tests software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hardware components on a combat vehicle system.
• Applies knowledge of Ethernet and CAN bus within software applications or tools to test and troubleshoot problems.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering and vehicle test teams to investigate reported issues and analyze collected data.
• Ensures that technical approach is consistent with established engineering principles and practices.
• Ensures that product outcomes meet customer needs and that customer and company technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements are met.
• Builds and maintains a software and hardware integration testbed.
• Integrates software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including packaging software as RPMs and binary executables, and working with drivers, shared objects, and static libraries.
• Travels to customer sites as needed.
• Works on combat vehicle systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in software integration.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
• Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols.
• Experience with Git and Jira/GitLab Configuration Management tools.
• Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines.
• Ability to apply critical thinking to solve technical design and development problems.
• Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems.
