About the role
Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.
This role must be based onsite in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Integrate the onboard software stack onto flight hardware, including flight controllers and companion compute
- Own ground-control software and the operator interface, supporting single-operator, multi-platform operation
- Plan and execute test campaigns end-to-end, including test cards, instrumentation, and safety/site coordination
- Perform post-test data analysis to gate program milestones
- Own the overall operator experience of the system, from ground control to in-field operation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, perception, navigation, and autonomy teams
Requirements
- Background in robotics or systems software engineering
- Experience with ROS 2 and Linux-based systems
- Experience with MAVLink and PX4/ArduPilot
- Experience with ground control station (GCS) or human-machine interface (HMI) development
- Hands-on test experience with small aircraft or robotic platforms, including data analysis using Python or MATLAB
Skills
- Part 107 certification or airspace-authorization experience (bonus)
- Front-end development experience for operator interfaces (bonus)
- Experience supporting field test operations (bonus)
Pay
For this position we are targeting a base pay between $140,000 - $260,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
