About the role

Join our Customer Engineering team to help drive the adoption and development of Silicon One products. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs, develop innovative solutions, and ensure high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Closely interact with Cisco’s Silicon One customers to assist with product adoption, software development, documentation, technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Gather and analyze customer requirements to improve software quality and enhance customer experience.
  • Develop and customize Silicon One software to meet customer-specific needs.
  • Collaborate with Silicon One Software teams to design and develop software features for the control and data planes on Cisco's Silicon One NPU.
  • Work with architecture and design teams to define the next generation of ASIC products.
  • Lead customer discussions to define requirements, scope features, and drive the development process from start to finish.
  • Ensure high-quality software delivery on schedule, while guiding a team of engineers through the development process.
  • Gain deep expertise in Silicon One hardware architecture and programming models, collaborating with architecture and hardware teams to shape the future of ASIC products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Science (CS), or Master of Science in EE or CS, with 8+ years of related experience.
  • Prior expertise in software development and integration using C++, Python.
  • Prior experience with networking protocols and technologies (L2/L3, MPLS, BGP, OSPF).
  • Experience with cloud, data center, or edge networking products.
  • Experience with SAI, SONiC, or other Network Operating Systems.
  • Experience with traffic generators (IXIA or Spirent).
  • Experience with writing, testing, and supporting software for high-performance and scalable networking products.

Qualifications

  • Mastery in control and routing planes, and building large-scale, high-density, and highly redundant systems.
  • Strong background in analytical reasoning and debugging, with experience using tools like GDB, PDB.
  • Expertise in algorithms and data structures.
  • Optimism and a positive outlook, with a passion for delivering exceptional results.

Skills

  • Modern C++ and the Silicon One network processing language.
  • Python programming.
  • Experience with cloud, data center, or edge networking products.
  • Knowledge of Layer 1 Port Technologies.
  • Experience with traffic generators (IXIA or Spirent).
  • Ability to write, test, and support software for high-performance and scalable networking products.

Schedule
