Software Engineering Manager (TS/SCI)
About the role
Vantor is seeking a Senior Software Lead and Integration Manager to support the U.S. Space Force in evaluating software solutions for national defense. In this role, you will lead a cross-functional team responsible for evaluating physics-based concepts, designing and testing software, and implementing end-to-end solutions. You will leverage experience with radio frequency (RF) and space weather concepts and translate scientific needs into scalable, mission-driven software solutions.
This role requires hands-on ability to read, program, and review code across the stack, while also providing strategic direction and mentorship to engineering and science personnel. You will collaborate across disciplines, communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders, and drive alignment between scientific objectives and software development efforts. Success in this role requires a balance of technical depth, leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.

This position is located on Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs and is primarily on-site with limited remote/hybrid options. Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, U.S. citizenship is required. To be eligible for this position, you must hold or be able to obtain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. Applicants who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be eligible for consideration. Employment for cleared roles is contingent upon verification of clearance status.
Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional team in evaluating physics-based concepts, designing and testing software, and implementing end-to-end solutions.
- Translate scientific needs into scalable, mission-driven software solutions, leveraging expertise in radio frequency (RF) and space weather concepts.
- Read, program, and review code across the full stack while providing strategic direction and mentorship to engineering and science personnel.
- Collaborate across disciplines, including science, software, hardware, and systems engineering, to drive outcomes and alignment.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Operate effectively in a dynamic, mission-focused environment, demonstrating proactive problem-solving and initiative.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Experience with scientific concepts related to radio frequency (RF), the electromagnetic spectrum, or space weather.
- Full-stack development experience.
- Ability to read and program in Python, JavaScript, or C/C++, and in frameworks such as React, Angular, REST, or GraphQL.
- Experience leading highly technical teams and coordinating outcomes across cross-functional groups.
- Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligible).
- U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance and export control/ITAR compliance).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with radar systems, radar modeling, or signal processing.
- Experience working with Kubernetes or software factories.
- Experience with requirements analysis.
- Ability to run and evaluate complex simulation frameworks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Master’s degree or Doctorate in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification within 2 months of hire date.
Pay
The base pay for this position within Colorado is $128,000.00 - $170,000.00 - $187,000.00 annually. Starting pay will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. For all other states, geographic cost of labor is used to develop market-driven ranges, and each location may have a different range.
