Software Engineering Manager - Financial Reporting

Responsibilities

• Own delivery outcomes for two scrum teams, adapting management style to each team's structure
• Hold Lead Engineer accountable for execution quality and preemptively manage delivery risks
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to directly-managed engineers, including running scrum ceremonies
• Translate complex financial reporting requirements into actionable, sequenced delivery plans
• Communicate statuses clearly up to senior management and across functional teams, providing actionable insights
• Identify and resolve blockers and risks early, taking ownership or escalating as necessary

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, especially in BI and reporting roles, with 2+ years as an engineering manager or technical lead
• Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL expertise sufficient for active technical direction
• Experience directly managing engineers at the individual contributor level; indirect management through leads is insufficient for the role
• Demonstrated AI-first engineering mindset, with hands-on experience using agentic development tools like GitHub Copilot
• Proven ability to engage with client stakeholders to translate complex business needs into technical plans
• Excellent written and verbal communication for engaging senior leadership and clients
