About the Role
Teradyne is looking for a Software Engineering Manager with cross-functional management skills to lead our internal core software development team. In partnership with other product development functions, you will play a critical role in enabling the team to develop software that achieves our business goals. You will provide architectural and technical guidance, oversee the delivery of our Automated Test Equipment (ATE) software, and lead an agile team in designing, implementing, and testing core software features for releases.

- Review and implement process improvements, including continuous integration objectives and quality metrics, while instilling operational practices to sustain them.
- Set goals aligned with the organization’s strategy and provide coaching and mentorship to achieve them.
- Cultivate a culture that prioritizes a product-first mindset, candor, accountability, and collaboration.
- Foster the career development of your team, helping them grow their technical and functional skills.
- Hire and grow new talent to meet business needs while making staffing trade-offs as required.
- Manage team elements across multiple geographic locations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of direct management, project and technical leadership, and/or team leadership experience.
- 10+ years in software sustaining or software development, with experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Understanding of the automated test equipment industry is desired.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, especially the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to lead and motivate others, communicate vision, set goals, monitor progress, and empower the team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate at different levels of abstraction and provide updates to senior management.
- Thorough knowledge of risk management and failure modes and effects analysis.
- Understanding of time-to-market, cost-of-test, yield management, and relevant production concepts.
- Demonstrable ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with C#/VBA, embedded, and multi-threaded programming is a plus.
- Experience with HW/DC instrumentation projects is a plus.
- Creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems.
- Strong commitment to product quality.
- Demonstrated experience in process development.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall software development processes, and proficiency using tools like JIRA.
- Full product life cycle experience from concept to customer support is a plus.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university (required).
- Master’s degree in EE/CS or MBA is a plus.
Pay
The base salary range for this role is $176,300 - $282,100. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount will correspond with experience and skill set. This range may also fluctuate depending on demand and location. The role is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
