About the role

Healthgrades is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead and support engineering teams in scaling and supporting the company's mission to help Americans find the right care.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure incremental value delivery and high-quality standards for teams managed.
  • Support strategic work with Product and Design organization.
  • Develop and retain diverse top talent.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, goal setting, and feedback conversations with engineers.
  • Improve inclusion and belonging on your team and within the organization.
  • Maintain high levels of transparency, efficiency, and collaboration in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Drive broader organizational development and cross-cutting efforts with the engineering management team.
  • Optimize the performance, scalability, security, and SEO of applications.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of experience building and leading software development teams.
  • Hiring and supporting engineers directly reporting to you.
  • Experience with modern software engineering practices and agile/lean values.
  • Experience integrating AI/LLM-based tools into engineering workflows.
  • Experience working with distributed teams.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical expertise in system development, including reusable, scalable code.
  • Experience with remote work and distributed teams.
  • Experience with AI/LLM-based tools in engineering workflows.
  • Knowledge of modern software engineering practices and agile/lean values.
