Software Engineering Manager

Basic Qualifications

• 8 years minimum demonstrated experience in systems engineering, software development, integration, and/or testing
• Software test planning experience
• Requirements verification and validation experience
• Proficiency in briefing executive-level management, government and industry customers
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully between multiple engineering disciplines
• Demonstrated experience generating cost and schedule estimates for new business pursuits and proposals
• Proven familiarity with software engineering-related processes (including software engineering command media)
• Experience in applying them to develop, test, control, and deliver software products that support program and customer needs
• Must hold a DoD Secret clearance or higher

About the Role

The Software Engineering Manager will perform as technical leader and software test manager within the THAAD Ground Systems Development Organization (GSDO).

This position reports to the GSDO Software Senior Manager and will serve as functional manager for 10-20 software engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the GSDO software build integration and software test teams
• Develop schedules and management tools to plan software build integration and test activities
• Develop the approach for verifying allocated software requirements
• Develop test plans and procedures to supply the objective evidence needed for requirements verification
• Utilize test beds to integrate software builds, develop test procedures and execute testing
• Perform post-test analysis and document results
• Develop software tools for automating analysis of test data for requirements compliance
• Verify software support tools are adequate and under configuration control
• Verify test beds (software and hardware) are certified for test and under configuration control
• Review lessons learned and best practices from other software programs for application to THAAD Ground Systems
• Prepare for and lead test readiness review meetings prior to qualification testing
• Support preparation and review of Software Test Reports documenting results of testing
• Lead the implementation of 1LMX and digital transformation initiatives

Qualifications

• THAAD Fire Control, THAAD Planner, and/or Launcher software development and/or test experience
• Safety critical software testing experience
• Experience in system and software requirements development and/or analysis
• Experience in definition, development, and/or verification of software/hardware interfaces
• Familiarity with ground systems hardware components and their relationship to software items
• Knowledge of and experience with the Missile Defense Agency and THAAD customer Control Account Management certification
• Proven successful management of technologically diverse group of personnel within a Software Engineering environment
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
