About the role
The successful candidate will manage cost accounts for the Mission Software team and lead a functional homeroom team of approximately 10 individuals. They will be responsible for the full cost account lifecycle, including managing Earned Value Management (EAC), risks, change board packages, rolling waves, and presenting to leadership. They will also oversee functional homeroom duties such as staffing, mentoring, and training.
Responsibilities
- Manage EAC workbooks, cost health checks, variances, and other monthly CAM activities.
- New business acquisition, proposal, and special projects support.
- Support Functional Engineering initiatives.
- Acquire necessary computers, equipment, and tools to enable the team to accomplish their assigned job.
- Mentor engineers on all phases of the Program.
- Support the software department, software center, and software sector in their day-to-day activities.
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field AND 9 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development, OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development.
- Prior experience in a leadership capacity using agile development, including participating as Product Owner, SCRUM Master, and/or team member in an Agile development environment.
- Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with Agile software development, object-oriented architecture and programming, software integration and testing.
- Experience with at least two of the following programming or scripting languages: Java, Python, C++, C.
- Experience with Excel spreadsheet macros.
- Active in-Scope, U.S Government Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR).
