Software Engineering Lead / Subject Matter Expert for Space Payloads - SIGN-ON BONUS
About the role

We're looking for strong leaders with software experience, space-focused subject matter expertise, and a proven history of delivering success to lead fast-paced teams in the development of embedded space payload applications.
This position offers a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates (current BAE Systems employees are ineligible). Due to government contract requirements, this position requires US citizenship status.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of embedded space payload applications
- Design software architectures for new programs
- Shape future proposal efforts
- Communicate technical information in consumable formats to internal and external audiences
- Mentor and empower rising software engineers
- Collaborate across sites and disciplines
Requirements
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
- 15+ years of software and leadership experience
- Familiarity with RF and software-defined radios
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience leading space programs
- Familiarity with automated build pipelines such as GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, and Atlassian tools
- Familiarity with OpenC3's COSMOS (https://openc3.com/)
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $153,377 - $260,743. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
