Bring your talent and skills to Raytheon Software Engineering team! The selected candidate will intern with Raytheon during summer 2027 as part of the Raytheon Fellowship Program.
About the Raytheon Fellowship Program
Seeking students in their sophomore or junior year or seniors if pursuing a master’s. Upon program acceptance, participants will be submitted for a national security clearance. Participants may be eligible to receive a $10,000 signing bonus, and an additional $10,000 signing bonus upon converting to full-time employee status post-graduation (payable within 60 days of employment and subject to all applicable withholdings). Participants will sign an offer agreement, committing to remain with Raytheon for a minimum of two years after becoming a full-time employee.
Responsibilities
- Perform development, integration, test and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of hardware and software platforms
- Integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources and ensure they meet performance standards for stability and utilization
- Develop software as necessary to integrate between components, perform new capabilities, and facilitate testing
- Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing unit tests that provide a high percentage of code coverage, participating in code peer reviews, conducting design reviews, and generating test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and will be at minimum Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Post Grad year by summer 2027
- Software development experience with Java in a Unix/Linux environment
- Familiarity with agile development and version control systems such as GIT
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Maven or GitLab
- Experience or familiarity with Agile development practices
Eligibility requirements
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government–issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
