Software Engineering Intern, Spectre

About the role

Firestorm is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to support the Software War Room Team. This role involves driving the execution and coordination across the full development lifecycle of our unmanned aerial systems simulations. Key responsibilities include prototyping, testing, data collection, and coordinating cross-functional engineering efforts.

Responsibilities

• Support prototyping and testing of unmanned aerial systems simulations
• Data collection and analysis to inform system improvements
• Cross-functional coordination to ensure seamless project execution
• Collaborate with team members to refine and implement innovative designs

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Software, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
• Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate across multiple teams and projects
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
• Experience in project coordination or support
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, iterative development environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• Technical background in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or systems engineering preferred
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment, prototyping, or assembly work
• Acquainted with DoD or Aerospace work environment
