We are seeking an experienced J2EE/Java developer with previous exposure to the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will leverage their existing skills to quickly familiarize themselves with our environment and technology to deliver time-sensitive projects for a leading investment manager.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build new software and features for existing software.
  • Use strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns to create efficient, testable, and maintainable software.
  • Provide detailed, articulate technical designs explaining the impact of release changes on application components.
  • Convert legacy systems into microservices or demonstrate experience in breaking down legacy systems into microservices.
  • Perform reverse engineering and digital transformation of legacy systems into modern designs.
  • Understand complex end-to-end transaction processing flows across multiple applications and a broad range of financial asset classes.
  • Recognize the importance of automated testing and implement it at various levels.
  • Perform code reviews and collaborate with team members on product development efforts.
  • Validate production deployment of applications.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot production issues promptly as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related or relevant field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE.
  • Hands-on advanced knowledge of relational databases/SQL/stored procedures (Sybase preferred).
  • Experience with Unix and shell scripting.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Eclipse, XML, MVC, and React JS Framework.
  • Experience with microservices and component-based architectures.
  • Strong coding, design, and debugging skills.
  • Ability to deliver projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Agile Project management methodologies.
  • Prior experience in the Capital Markets domain with Asset Management or Investment Banking is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AI tools such as GitHub CoPilot is a plus.

Pay

Salary Range: $100,000 - $167,500 Annual. The range applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate works outside the primary location, the applicable range may differ.
