About the role
Design and develop high-performance backend software for the company’s Wearables Interfaces Group. Build and optimize distributed systems with a strong focus on scalability and backend architecture. Develop production-quality C++ code using asynchronous programming techniques and advanced memory management. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams while delivering against daily technical milestones. Participate in technical discussions and contribute to scalable system design and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance backend software for wearables interfaces.
- Build and optimize distributed systems with a focus on scalability and backend architecture.
- Develop production-quality C++ code using asynchronous programming and advanced memory management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to meet daily technical milestones.
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute to scalable system design.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience (7+ years may be considered with strong preferred skills).
- Expert-level C++ development.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems.
- Experience with backend system architecture.
- Knowledge of horizontal scaling and scalable system design.
- Experience with asynchronous programming.
- Strong understanding of C++ pointers and memory management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid software engineering background (lack of one is an immediate disqualifier).
Nice-to-have skills
- Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Experience building similar systems at competitors such as Amazon Alexa or comparable organizations.
