Software Engineer Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain secure, high-performance software systems. The role focuses on building cloud native applications and tooling using Java and Python on AWS, with an emphasis on robustness, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical systems and continuously improve development practices and operational readiness. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain backend services and applications using Java and Python.Build and deploy cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, and CloudWatch.Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated test suites to ensure high code quality and rapid, reliable releases.Apply secure coding practices and work with security engineers to integrate authentication, authorization, encryption, and logging controls.Perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes and improvements.Collaborate with product managers, designers, and systems engineers to translate requirements into technical designs and deliverables.Document architecture, designs, APIs, runbooks, and operational procedures.Optimize application performance and cost in cloud environments; participate in capacity planning and scaling decisions.QualificationsMust have TS/SCI Clearance with an active PolygraphMust be a Maryland Resident7+ years of experience working on cleared federal contractsProficiency in modern Java, AWS, and PythonSolid understanding of networking, security fundamentals, and secure coding practices.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.BenefitsHighly competitive salaries: $150,000 - $250,00020 days of PTO plus your birthday12 Federal HolidaysUp to 10% 401(k) match100% Employer paid Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage with BlueCross/BlueShieldEmployer paid STD/LTD, AD&D & LifeTechnology ReimbursementAnnual Training and continued education reimbursement Email Your Resume In Word To Jake.Tilton@CyberCoders.com Looking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
