About the role

The Software Engineer Staff III plays a critical role in the development and maintenance of production systems at Intermountain Health/Select Health. This position requires expertise in software development methodologies, proficiency in various programming languages, and experience in enterprise-scale application development.

Responsibilities

  • Codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs to ensure production systems meet user needs.
  • Coordinates with user management to address project status, direction, and user needs.
  • Participates in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint retrospectives.
  • Works with external software suppliers to resolve integration issues.
  • Assists with scheduling, manpower requirements, and cost estimation for projects.
  • Maintains a high-level understanding of industry application development best practices and tools.
  • Coordinates with analysts and consultants in the design and development of new software applications.
  • Manages integrations with third-party systems.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficient in Angular or React, SQL, C# and .NET API development.
  • Experience developing applications in Azure environment.
  • Experience handling large data sets and bulk processing.
  • Experience building event-driven systems and messaging-based systems.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps practices.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, governance, and security best practices.
  • Understanding of enterprise applications integration.
  • Managing integrations with third-party systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Capability to estimate effort and deliver timely on commitments.
  • Possesses a positive mindset and willingness to learn new things.
  • Passionate about learning and continuous improvement.

Skills

  • Expert knowledge of programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with application development tools.
  • Strong knowledge of software evaluation principles and practices.
