About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the USAF Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC) at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software systems, collaborating with the team to troubleshoot issues and enhance backend services and web applications, implementing software improvements, and ensuring compliance with DoD security standards. The engineer will also contribute to technical documentation, support CI/CD pipelines, and maintain version control and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software systems
  • Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot issues and enhance backend services and web applications
  • Implement software improvements
  • Ensure compliance with DoD security standards
  • Contribute to technical documentation
  • Support CI/CD pipelines
  • Maintain version control and deployment processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or Data Science (or equivalent certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP, GSEC, CSSLP)
  • 9+ years of relevant experience for a Bachelor’s, 7+ years for a Master’s, or 4+ years for a PhD
  • DoD 8570 IAT-II certification (CompTIA Security+ or higher) required within 60 days of hire
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required
  • US Citizenship (employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas)
