About the role
Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented Level 3 Ground Software Engineer with an active Final Top Secret security clearance to work from either our King of Prussia, PA or Littleton, CO location(s). This position is contingent upon program award expected in October 2026.
You will be part of an Agile team crafting and building innovative solutions for customers, utilizing modern development tools and methodologies such as DevSecOps (automated testing, continuous integration, automated deployment). The role involves progressing system capabilities from early design through site acceptance, focusing on software reuse, COTS/FOSS integrations, and affordable best practices.
Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities.
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug software containing logical and mathematical solutions for business/mission problems.
- Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
- Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software to develop solutions for business/mission applications.
- Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation, and analyze system capabilities.
- Ensure software standards are met.
Requirements
- Strong software development and engineering background with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Experience developing ground subsystems.
- Demonstrated expertise in Scaled Agile development methodologies and excellent communication skills.
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required, with the ability to obtain an SCI.
Skills
- Understanding/proficiency in application containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Agile software development, Java/JEE, C# .NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, Rancher, Python, GitLab.
- Web development experience.
- Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with continuous integration, automated testing, and DevOps.
- Experience working in Agile teams using SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, or similar methodologies.
- Experience designing and documenting microservice-based architectures.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and distributed systems.
- Strong background in developing, debugging, and testing web applications and services.
- Proficiency in AI prompting as it applies to software engineering.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $110,300 – $204,900. Salary is determined based on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market considerations.
