Software Engineer, Sr. (AI Platform)

About The Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our innovative team working on the Bolt platform, McKesson's AI-first platform for rapid enterprise application development. This platform revolutionizes how enterprise software is built by enabling teams to describe their intent, which is then transformed into robust, production-ready software through AI-powered harnesses and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core components of the Bolt harness, including skills, commands, and guardrails for AI-generated code safety
• Create tooling to improve reliability, orchestration, context management, and reusable templates for agentic development
• Enhance enterprise guarantee layers by designing security, data integration, and automated verification systems
• Manage the full development lifecycle from specifications to deployment across multiple environments, including CI/CD and secrets management
• Set technical standards through architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentorship of team members
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform scalability, security, and compliance
• Stay current with emerging AI and software development trends, applying relevant innovations to the platform
• Contribute to documentation, best practices, and knowledge sharing within the team

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software
• Strong fundamentals in system design and architecture
• Proficiency in full-stack development with TypeScript, Python, Go, and modern frontend and backend technologies
• Hands-on experience with containers, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines in enterprise environments
• Proven automation mindset with a track record of scaling systems and reducing manual effort
• Customer-centric approach, grounding technical decisions in user needs
• Familiarity with AI/LLMs, prompt engineering, and agent orchestration is a plus
• Experience with developer platforms, SDKs, or internal tooling is desirable
• Knowledge of application security, DevSecOps, or enterprise data platforms is advantageous
• Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare is a plus
