Tasks and Responsibilities
- Drive the design and implementation of reliable, scalable software solutions, ensuring new features and enhancements meet availability, resilience, and performance standards.
- Partner with cross-functional teams—including architecture, infrastructure operations, cybersecurity, and data—to design and implement systems that balance business functionality with operational reliability and risk mitigation.
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to enable consistent, repeatable, and efficient build, test, and deployment processes.
- Embed quality and security into the software lifecycle by implementing automated testing, code quality checks, vulnerability scanning, and pipeline enforcement (e.g., unit test coverage, static analysis, and compliance checks).
- Develop and enhance observability and operational practices (monitoring, alerting, logging) to proactively detect and respond to system issues.
- Work within an agile environment to iteratively deliver high-impact improvements while continuously improving system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
Education
- 2–4 years of experience in software engineering or related roles, with a strong understanding of system design, scalability, and production support.
- Proficient in scripting and programming (e.g., Python) to automate operational tasks, reduce toil, and improve system reliability is a must. Experience with API integration and tooling is preferred.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), including compute, networking, and storage services. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and distributed system architectures is a plus.
- Exposure to supporting Jenkins, WebSphere, BitBucket, Git, Nexus, Tomcat, and APM Tools (e.g., Datadog).
Core Competencies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead or contribute effectively during incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and cross-team coordination.
