About the role
The Boeing Company is seeking a Software Engineer - Secure Network & Protocols to support the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) & Boeing Global Services (BGS) Software Engineering organization. This position will focus on the integration of software for the E7 Training System platforms in Oklahoma City, OK.
Responsibilities
- Support in development of high-quality software design, implementation and architecture
- Develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and design for software systems as part of an agile scrum team
- Develop and integrate software components into a fully functional software system
- Create, update and maintain software tests
- Execute and document software research and development projects
- Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
- Build software solutions where the solution is not always well defined but always considers the customer first
- Work closely with Product Managers and SW Engineers in defining system level software features
- Work closely with the team to decompose system level features into executable backlog items
Requirements
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance post-start. To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
- 8+ years’ experience in Object Oriented Programming
- 8+ years’ experience programming in C/C++
Qualifications
- 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Visual Studio IDE, Git (version control)
- Experience in aerodynamics, Guidance and Control (G&C), sensor modeling, DIS/HLA (Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and High-Level Architecture (HLA), electronic warfare, and/or communications systems
- Familiarity in project management tools such as (JIRA, VersionOne etc.)
- Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems (Windows, LINUX, etc.)
- Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint)
- Solid understanding of software development process fundamentals
- Experience With SAFe Methodologies And/or Other Agile Frameworks
