Software Engineer, Senior

About the role

At Charta, we prioritize results over methods. As a Senior Software Engineer, you're responsible for the software solutions you develop, making informed decisions about project priorities while keeping the product's future and roadmap in mind. You'll leverage technology to resolve problems, design customer-centric products and features, and maintain scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Determine team objectives and priorities
• Be involved from the outset in product ideation and development
• Take initiatives for product discovery and refinement sessions
• Analyze problems, craft solutions and architectures
• Deliver high-quality code and thorough documentation
• Ensure smooth deployment of software solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• At least 4 years of professional experience in software development shipping production code
• Fluent in one or more backend languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, or C/C++
• Experience building, testing, and deploying microservices
• Strong communication skills to collaborate across engineering, product, and other functional teams

Skills

• Next.js and/or React (plus)
• Distributed systems development and performance optimization (plus)
• Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, Docker, and ECS/Kubernetes (plus)
• Interest or experience developing or leveraging modern generative AI technologies, including proprietary and open-source large language models (plus)

Pay

$150,000 - $210,000 USD depending on experience + Equity + Benefits
